South Parade Parking

Recently fire engines were unable to access a chimney fire in South Parade because of double parking on the road. This could have been a serious incident and could have involved people requiring medical treatment.

At the meeting on Tuesday 8th January 2008 it was agreed that the Parish  Council contact the  local police and ask for parking tickets to be placed on all vehicles either parked on the pavement or causing an obstruction on the roadway.

You are allowed to park in the school playground at weekends and on week nights providing you move the car before the school run next morning.

Community Emergency Scheme

Would anyone be interested in being part of a team to create a Community Emergency Scheme? A template as well as personal help is offered bythe Environment Agency.

The aim of the scheme is to provide a single source of local information to raise the community's resilience. Also it would help us respond effectively during the initial period of an emergency especially when the emergency services may be stretched or delayed in response to a local accident.

If you are interested, please see a member of the Parish Council.
